I'm so sorry to be so long posting this hit. I put the websites on my
school wiki.

Eleven are real sites, numbers 1, 9, 15, 17, 22, 24, 25, 26, 28, and 32.
I made a worksheet that had 4 columns; Hoax, True, Helpful, and a
comment section of why they answered the way they did. We spent a day
going over the characteristics of a good website and included the fact
that most people spend 30-45 seconds deciding whether or not a website
is good. They had about 45 minutes the next day to go to the websites
and fill out the form.

While linking to alternative search engines one choice and perhaps
the best one for younger children, it is also our responsibility to
promote the critical skills that would allow children to evaluate
this kind of site. That is one of the reasons I created these
lessons for evaluating the quality of web sites which include the MLK
site. http://www.wiredsafety.org/wiredlearning/Evaluation/index.html
